Illena Marceau Obituary

BROWNING - Illena Mae (HeavyRunner) Marceau, 76, of Browning, died of natural causes Sunday at Peace Hospice in Great Falls.
Wake is in progress at the Glacier Homes Community Center in Browning. Rosary is 7 p.m. today at the center. Her services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Church of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Browning, with burial in Willow Creek Cemetery. Hi Line Funeral Home of Cut Bank is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her children, Linda (Bobby) RedBoy of Great Falls, Carol Marceau Bullshoe of Black Eagle, Irene (Rick) Horn of Browning, Walter "Jim" (Jolene) Marceau of Two Medicine, Tom (Sandie) Marceau of Heart Butte, Jennifer (Steve) Meyers of Colum-bia Falls and Ann (Jamie) Marceau of Cut Bank; a sister Virginia Valles of Jerome, Idaho; 15 grand-children and 16 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Peter; sons Clifford, Virgil and Merlin; and her parents.
Illena was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Browning to Jack and Irene (Wolf Chief) HeavyRunner. She was raised and grew up in Browning and attended Browning Public Schools. She was employed by School District No. 9 as a cook for many years. She was very involved with the Green Thumb program and enjoyed bingo, going to pow-wows, sun dances and traditional "sings".

I want to send my condolences to the entire family. Your mother/grandmother was a wonderful lady. She had a unique way of making me feel special. I will miss her as I have her husband. God Bless today and forever.
