Tanner Mullens Obituary

Tanner Michael Mullens, 12, died of complications from a long-term disorder Sunday, Aug. 7, at his Great Falls home.

The family will greet friends and other family members from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Schnider Funeral Home. His funeral is 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Hillcrest Lawn Memorial Chapel, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, M. Brad and Barbara (Enslow) Mullens of Great Falls; his older sister, Katelynne Marie Mullens of Great Falls; his paternal grandparents, Mike and Yovanna Mullens of Lincoln; his maternal grandparents, Mike and Linda Enslow of Meridian, Idaho, and Nanci Cloud of Spokane, Wash.; his paternal great-grandfather, Alva Gwinn of Richwood, W.Va.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tanner was born May 14, 1999, in Great Falls, to M. Brad and Barbara J. Mullens. At the age of 3 months, he was determined to have an undiagnosed disease. He began to have epileptic seizures and was thought to have a metabolic disorder. His parents took him to numerous hospitals to try to find the cause and a cure for his ailment.

To the date of his death, the doctors were unable to pinpoint his disease. Throughout his life, Tanner lost his sight and hearing, and regressed to the state of a 1-month-old baby. He did not have the ability to control his muscles and could not do the things that a normal 12-year-old could do.

One reason for Tanner making it as long as he did was the love and constant attention given to him by his family. Tanner touched a lot of lives along the way through his strength and courage. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him. Mommy's angel finally has his wings.

I was saddened to read that Tanner had passed away at the tender age of 12. I
kept up with his growth as a baby to just
recently where his photo has been displayed at the Leslies Hallmark Store
in Gt. Falls. He is now an angel and
each of you are, too; what a special
family. God Bless You.
