William Hauer Obituary
Dearborn —William A. Hauer, 67, died of complications of cancer on March 11, 2014 at Peace Hospice. At Bill's request, no funeral services are planned and cremation has taken place under the direction of Croxford Funeral Home.
Bill was born February 10, 1947 in Bertha, MN. He went to school in Great Falls and graduated from Great Falls High. He worked at the Anaconda Company. Bill went into the US Army and served in Vietnam, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. After returning from the Army, Bill went to Minneapolis, MN where he worked for Scherer Bros. Lumber for many years. Bill met and married Kathy Detenancour. After retiring from the Scherer Bros. they moved to Montana. They opened Hauer's Café and ran it for many years upon retirement. Bill enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Kathy; son, Robert (Jennifer) Detenancour; granddaughters, Sydney and Madison, of St. Francis, MN; brother, Tom (Jill) Hauer; sisters, Carol (Bill) Stoller, Shelby (Dan) Howard, Phyllis Bunker, all of Great Falls; numerous nieces and nephews; and his best buddy, Cocoa.
Bill is preceded in death by his mother, Winnie; father, Tom Hauer; and nephew, Travis Howard.
Although you are gone from our sight, you will live forever in our hearts.
