Rand Lange Obituary

Lange, Rand R.

Rand R. Lange, 59, lifelong resident of Peshtigo (Grover) passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born July 18, 1955, he was the son of Mylon and Janet (Hartwig) Lange.

He graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1974. On June 5, 1976, he married Jeanne Drewery at St. John's Lutheran Church in Grover and they celebrated 38 years of marriage. Rand was an avid marksman and trap-shooter and enjoyed shooting for North Wood Flooring at various area shoots. His love of the sport was something he passed down to his grandson, Joran. Known for his appreciation for anything and everything John Deere, he was given the nickname "John Deere Randy" by friends and family. His nieces, nephews and grandchildren all spent many hours riding around the farm fields with him. One of his proudest accomplishments was the ability he had to get a crying child asleep before even finishing one round on the field. Rand was a 35 year member of the Grover Porterfield Fire Department.

He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Tara (Chris) Neville; three grandchildren, Abby (special friend, Cody Ferron) Joran and Shayna Neville; his parents; his siblings, Mark (Sandy) Lange, Janice Holder, Kevyn Lange and Karyn (Scott) Berg, all of Peshtigo; seven nieces; eight nephews; and his beloved pet, Minnie. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, paternal grandparents, mother and father-in-law, and a brother-in-law.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, at Berth & Rosenthal Funeral Home from 5 to 9 p.m. Visitation continues on Saturday, Aug. 23, at St. John's Church in Grover from 9 until time of services at 11 a.m. with a lunch to follow.

Pastor Charles Learman will be officiating and burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Unity Hospice; Lori and Ron Szwet for being there when you were needed the most; Dr. Matthew Ryan, Nicole Spaeth NP, Theresa RN and all of the staff at Green Bay Oncology;
