GREENSBORO MRS. JAN ice Sue Elkins Avery, age 68, passed away Tuesday, October 19, 2015 at her home.A graveside service will be 2 p,m. Thursday at Guilford Memorial Park, with Rev. Paul McClure officiating the service. The family will receive friends from 3 until 5 p.m. at Rehobeth United Methodist Church Family Life Center.Mrs. Avery was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She always thought of others before herself. She was a member of Rehobeth United Methodist Church, and retired from Bell South with thirty years of service. After retirement, she became the co-owner and office manager of Avery Body and Trim Shop.She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Bill "Tiny" Avery of Greensboro; children Sean Kelly Harvell (Rachel), Tom Avery (Elaine), and Jordan "Beth" Avery Byrd (Jon); brother Stephen Elkins; niece Stephanie Nicole Elkins. She was adored by her grandchildren: Ellana Avery, Jordan Avery, Michael Byrd, and Katie Byrd.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the General Fund or The Family Life Center Fund of Rehobeth United Methodist Church, 4475 Rehobeth Church Rd. Greensboro, NC 27407.
