Joseph M. "Mike" McMillan

REIDSVILLE, NC Joseph M. "Mike" McMillan, 76, of Reidsville, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2016 at his home.Funeral services will be held 4 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Clayton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at Jennifer's home. The burial will follow in Greenview Cemetery with military honors performed by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.Mr. McMillan was born in Rockingham County to the late Ruby Hurd McMillan and Joseph Webster McMillan. He served our nation and community his whole life, starting with his career in the military, including both the U.S. Army and the U.S. Navy. Continuing his service, he worked in law enforcement, including the Mayodan Police Department, the Madison Police Department, and he retired from the Rockingham County Sheriff's Department. He also served with the Rockingham County EMS for a number of years. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Jason Michael McMillan, and his granddaughter, Melanie Michael Dalton.He is survived by his wife, Linda Lynn McMillan of the home; his daughters, Lisa McMillan Dalton of Wilmington and Jennifer McMillan and fianc?, Kevin Baldwin of Reidsville; and grandchildren, Susan Webb, Dylan Lawrence, Kailey Lawrence and Ricco Hairston.
