McKibbin, Sally Ruth Hall

Sally Ruth Hall McKibbin, of Greensboro, passed away early Wednesday morning, January 19, 2022, after a brief illness.
Sally was born December 10, 1931, in Anniston, Alabama, to Arthur S. Hall and wife, Ruth Mulhollen Hall. Sally was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Mary Jane McKibbin Lindley, a grandson, William Clarke Lindley, Jr., her identical twin, Mary Jane Hall Nahser, and her brother-in-law Philip Joseph Nahser. Sally is survived by three children: John Meek McKibbin, IV (Colleen) of Davidson, Margaret McKibbin Penn (Brad) of Greensboro and Stanton Hall McKibbin of Fort Worth, Texas; 5 grandchildren: Cameron Lindley Reynolds, Jackson Hall McKibbin, Kathryn Kennedy McKibbin, Stanton Brooks McKibbin and John Meek McKibbin, V and 2 great-grandchildren: Morgan Leigh Reynolds and Keelan David Reynolds. She is also survived by her nieces Sally Ruth Murphy (William) and Anna Lee Potter (Steve) and nephew Dr. Philip Joseph Nahser, Jr. (Debbie) as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews.
Sally attended Murphy High School in Mobile, Alabama, where she was a member of her beloved Beta Sigma Chi, and later graduated from Druid High School in Atlanta, GA. After briefly attending Michigan State, Sally transferred to Auburn University where she joined Alpha Delta Pi sorority and earned a B.S. in Elementary Education. Sally taught in the public school system in Atlanta for a few years upon graduation, before becoming a full-time homemaker while living in Pittsburgh, PA. In 1970, Sally moved with her 4 children to Burlington, NC where she worked in Visual Merchandizing and Sales at Belk Beck, Holly Hill Mall until she retired in 1997.
While living in Burlington, Sally was active in her community where she was a member of the Town & Country Garden Club and a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church. Other interests included snow skiing, tennis, sewing, knitting, bridge, decorating and reading. Sally was affectionately known as "Mackie" by family and friends. In 2020, Sally moved to Harmony at Greensboro and was loved by the staff who helped care for her and was known for her beautiful smile, twinkling eyes and smart wit.
A memorial service will be conducted at the Chapel of the First Presbyterian Church of Burlington on Saturday, January 29th at 11:00 by Rev. Ronald Shive with the family receiving friends following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, 508 West Davis Street, Burlington, NC 27215 or the American Cancer Institute for Cancer Research, PO Box 97167, Washington, DC 20009-7167.
