Bobby Parr Obituary
Greer - Bobby Lee Parr, 77, died February 11, 2019.
A native of Habersham County, Georgia, he was the beloved son of the late Garnett Asbury and Alma Hortense Black Parr; he served with the Army National Guard 178th Field Artillery 1963-1969; was a retired employee of Mitsubishi; a 1960 graduate of Taylors High School and member of Washington Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Lamm Parr; daughter, Robin Parr-Butler; and beloved grandchildren, Chelsea and Zachary Butler; niece, Shelby Thomason (Keith); nephew Tommy Simmons (Patti), all of Greer.
He was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy Parr-Simmons.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2019, at The Wood Mortuary Chapel conducted by Dr. Drew Hines and Rev. Patrick Clark. A private entombment will be held at Hillcrest Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation will be held 2:30 p.m. until 3:45 p.m. Thursday prior to the service at the mortuary.
Pallbearers will be: Keith Thomason, Jeff Thomason, Scott Thomason, Brent Thomason, Tommy Simmons, Thomas Simmons, Patrick Simmons, Josh Thomason, Ty Thomason, Drew Thomason and Daniel Thomason.
Honorary Escorts will be childhood friends: Dawson Dill, Jr., Ed Hammett, Robert Hammett, Ronald Thomason, Jim Suber and members of the 1960 graduating class of Taylors High School.
Bobby respectfully requested that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Greer Community Ministries, Post Office Box 1373, Greer, SC 29652; St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Post Office Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
