Carl Clark Obituary

Mr. Carl Joseph Clark, age 66, husband of Karen A. Clark, of 2000 N. View Ave., Anderson, died Sunday, May 11, 2003, at Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Chesnee, Dec. 15, 1936, Mr. Clark was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin Clark and Susan Bell Clark. He retired from the U.S. Air Force as a Sergeant, and later retired from the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Ruff Masonic Lodge of Anderson and Landmark Freewill Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Karen A. Clark, of the home; a son, Joseph H. Clark, of Anderson; a daughter, Dawn M. Burgess, of Greer; brothers, John R. Clark, of Cayce, James D. Clark, of Madisonville, Tenn., and Jerry Clark, of Greenville; sisters, Judy Roberts, of Mauldin, Joleen McCrary, of Travelers Rest, and Rita Holbrooks, of Greenville; and three grandchildren, Lauren Scarborough, Rebecca Burgess and Adam Burgess.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2003, at 3 p.m. at Caroleen-Henrietta Cemetery in Caroleen, N.C., with full military honors, and will be officiated by the Rev. Michael Tucker.

The body is at The McDougald Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today, May 13, 2003.

Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to American Heart Association, Memorials & Tribute Processing Center, P.O. Box 5216, Glen Allen, VA 23058-5216.

The McDougald Funeral Home in Anderson is in charge of arrangements.
