James Brown Obituary

James H. Brown, 82, of 6 Melody Lane, husband of Bobbie Jean Teal Brown, died Friday, March 30, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital, Downtown.

Born in Gibson, N.C., he was the son of the late Belton T. and Ethel Turberville Brown.

Mr. Brown was a retired paint contractor, and was a member of McCarter Presbyterian Church and the Session. He was a United States Army Veteran.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three daughters and sons-in-law, Fran and David Pace of Lyman, Marsha and Reverend Rick Morris of Tigerville, Tami and Terry Harmon of Easley; four grandchildren, Courtney Morris Dean and her husband Reverend Jeff Dean, Erica Kozicki and her husband Karl, Blake Harmon and his wife Sherry, and Kirk Morris; two great-grandchildren, Ruthie Alice Dean and Adison Elizabeth Kozicki; a sister, Ethel O'Rourke of Houston, Texas; two brothers, Belton T. Brown of Valdosta, Ga., and Woodrow W. Brown of Raleigh, N.C.; mother-in-law, Alice Grooms; close family friend, Mary Jane Kelly; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers; and one sister.

Memorials may be made to McCarter Presbyterian Church, 2 Pelham Road, Greenville, SC.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 1, 2007, at 1:30 p.m., in the chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Downtown. Visitation will be held prior, from 12:30 to 1:15 p.m. Private entombment will be in Graceland East Memorial Park Mausoleum.

The family will be at the residence.
