Greer
Mae Eleanor Butler Bowen, 95, died peacefully on June 12, 2013. She was the wife of the late E. Lamar Bowen and the daughter of the late John T. and Camelia MacFarlane Butler.
She lived her life in the Greenville area. Her school of pride was Parker High School, class of 1939. She enjoyed making friends and being a friend to all who met her.
Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law whom she dearly loved, Mrs. Dale Allen (Tim) of Spartanburg and Mrs. Sidney Skardon (Norton) of Greenville; two grandchildren, Todd Allen (Elle) and Emily Allen all of Charlotte; and one great-granddaughter, Kinsley Allen. In addition to her family, she is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Elsie Griffin, Hazel Black, Harold Butler, and John T. Butler, Jr..
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary, conducted by Dr. Wilson Nelson and Mrs. Dottie Bryson. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held 9:30-10:45 a.m. Friday at The Wood Mortuary in Greer.

Dale and Sidney, I wanted you to know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers. We only got to know each other for such a short time at NHC, but I will cherish that time and the memory of your mother. She was a beautiful lady.

When I think of "Miss Mae", I always smile! I feel so blessed to have known her and to have loved her! After she left Greenville Place, our supper table was never the same!
