Teri Burnette Obituary

Teri Morris Burnette, 59, beloved mother and grandmother, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004, at Brighton Gardens.

Born in Woodruff, she was a daughter of Paul W. Morris, of Spartanburg and the late Gwendolyn Leonhart Morris.

Mrs. Burnette graduated from Columbia College in 1967, and from Converse College in 1969, with a Masters of Arts degree in teaching. She was a teacher.

She was a long-time member of Buncombe Street United Methodist Church and the Seekers Sunday School Class.

Surviving, in addition to her father, are a daughter, Cynthia Burnette Riedinger and her husband, Eric, of Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Joseph D. Burnette III of Sumter; two grandchildren, Hailey and Joseph Riedinger of Charlotte, N.C.; a brother, Scott W. Morris and his wife, Kathy, of Rock Hill; and a sister, Gwendolyn P. Morris of Spartanburg.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 31, 2004, at 2 p.m. at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with the Rev. Grover Putnam and the Rev. Douglas A. Bowling officiating.

Entombment will follow in the Remembrance Chapel Mausoleum in Woodlawn Memorial Park.


The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Buncombe Street United Methodist Church, 200 Buncombe St., Greenville, SC 29601.
