Doris Schupp Obituary
Doris M. Schupp - age 90, died peacefully at home on March 22, 2014. She was born in Greenwich, one of six children of Samuel F. Bridge, Sr. and Ethel W. Bridge. She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1942 and worked a number of years before marriage and raising an active family of seven children. She enjoyed gardening, being in nature, traveling with family members, reading, baking, and her volunteer services for Stanwich Congregational Church. She had a strong connection with her extended family, a sense of humor and positive outlook on life.
Doris Schupp is predeceased by her parents, husband Jack C. Schupp, three sisters, (Ethel Healy, Hilda Schupp and Betty Bridge), two brothers, (Samuel Bridge, Jr. and Alfred Bridge), and nephew, William Schupp. She is survived by her seven children and families: Beverly (Marc) Schupp of Haines, AK, Nancy (Vernon) Schupp of Fairbanks, AK, Gary (Peggy) Schupp of Sauk Rapids, MN, Dale (Steven) Adler of Ft. Myers, FL, Robert (Marion) Schupp of Bedford, NY, Jack (Dawn) Schupp, Jr. of Greenwich, CT, and Thomas (Patti) Schupp of Somers, NY; seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nine nieces and nephews, and nineteen grandnieces and nephews.
Services will be held Thursday, March 27, 11:00am at the original Stanwich Congregational Church, 217 Taconic Road, Greenwich, CT. Interment will follow in Putnam Cemetary. Donations may be made in her memory to Stanwich Congregational Church or the Visiting Nurse Services of New York.
