John Morgan Obituary

JOHN MORGAN 71, died July 13, 2005, at his home in Proctorsville. John was born in Brooklyn, NY, March 9, 1934, the son of Gerald M. Morgan and Ann Hester Morgan. John grew up in Greenwich, CT and attended Greenwich Public Schools. His early adult life was spent in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

John served in the U.S. Navy in Korea from 1951 to 1955.

John worked in heavy construction and was a "rounder". He returned to Greenwich until 1986 when he purchased his home in Ludlow.

He married Barbara Aguiar LeMire on August 26th, 2000 in Proctorsville.

John was a sports enthusiast and played hockey. He enjoyed watching hockey, baseball and football games. His Navy days prompted his love of the sea. He enjoyed boats, fishing and cruising.

John was a member of the American Legion Post #36 in Ludlow, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Proctorsville.

John is survived by his wife, Barbara; two sons; Doug LeMire and his wife Barbara of Chester and David LeMire and his wife Cindy of Warren, RI; two daughters, Denise Bartlett and her husband Sean of Harrisville, RI and Diane Colucci of Shelburne, VT; three brothers, Mark E. Morgan of Hobe Sound, FL, Thomas O. Morgan of Huntington Beach, CA and Joseph P. Morgan of Woodbridge, VA; eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers; Gerald M. Morgan, Jr., and J. Daniel Morgan.

A mass of Christian Burial will be held on Satufday, July 16th, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Name of Mary Catholic Church in Proctorsville. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery in Proctorsville. Friends may call on the family Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Adams & Kenney Funeral Home in Ludlow.

In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Visiting Nurse Alliance of NH/VT, Springfield Area Hospice, 366 River Street, Springfield, VT 05156.

Adams & Kenney Funeral Homes in Ludlow are assisting the family with the arrangements.

my earliest recollection of john when he was on his back and kicking and screaming on (about what i have no idea) his back on the ice on the pond we frequented in the winter in Riverside. I have not seen most of the family for many years but they have always been dear to me in my childhood memories. Health and happiness to youall.
