News Death Notice

FARMER, Jack Lee Age 74, passed away October 18, 2009 at Hospice surrounded by his loving family. He was born on October 16, 1935, in Hamilton, Ohio, the son of late Melba and Earl Farmer. He was the oldest of four siblings. On March 1, 1980 he married the love of his life Ginger Lee Wiggins, who survives. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1953. Jack served in the U.S. Army as a corporal from 1958 until 1960. Jack was owner and operator of Brookwood Highlander Laundromat for the last 32 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 138, Amvets Post 1983, Monkey Mutual Aid Society No. 1, and the Loyal order of the Moose - Lodge 501. Jack was also President and Founder of the Laundromat Literary and Liturgical Society. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years Ginger Farmer; by his daughter and son-in-law, Tara and Dave Kent of Hamilton, Ohio; son, Sidney Farmer of Hamilton Ohio; daughter and son-in-law, Tiffany and Matthew Taggart of Grand Rapids, Michigan; and son Zackary Farmer of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandchildren Emma and Ethan Kent of Hamilton, Ohio; and sister Nancy McDade of Sebastian, Florida; and countless nieces, nephews, and life long friends. Jack Farmer was preceded in death by his mother and father, Earl and Melba Farmer; his brother, Edward (Boom) Farmer; and his sister, Carol Sue (Suzie) Kallick. A special thank you goes out to all of our customers for being part of his and his family's life throughout the years. Also to all his doctors and nurses, we wouldn't have had him this long without you. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 22, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton. Visitation will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hickory Flat Cemetery. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or American Kidney Fund.
