News Death Notice

WYNN, William Ray Bill passed away peacefully on July 16, 2016 at the age of 88. He was born on June 7, 1928, in Hamilton, Ohio, the oldest child of Lester and Helen (Brune) Wynn. On November 15, 1952, he married EdnaMae (Blakley) and they enjoyed 63 beautiful years together. Bill was dedicated to his country, career, and family. In 1950, he was called to serve in the Korean War as a Corporal. After two years, he returned to Fisher Body in Fairfield, OH to resume his position as supervisor of Data Processing and was an admired employee for 36 years. After retiring, he continued an active lifestyle and enjoyed traveling and golf. He also loved listening to Dixieland music, doing crossword puzzles, playing bridge, and spending time with family. Bill is survived by his wife, two daughters, Sheryl (David) Wenzel of Carmel, IN and Darlene (Ron) Duke of Centerville. He also leaves behind 16 grandchildren that were an active part of his life. They are Meredith (Matt) Miller, Erica (Nathan) Branam, Jonathon (Sarah) Wenzel, Carlyanne Wenzel, Michael (Jennie) Duke, Maria (Joshua) Gehl, Nicholas (Emily) Duke, Anne (Daniel) Roesch, Victoria (Roy) Serruto, Tom (Holly) Duke, Lisa Duke, Katherine Duke, Stephanie Duke, Zachary Duke, John Duke and Juliette Duke. He was also adored by 16 great-grandchildren. They are Logan and Luke Miller, Isaiah, Grace, and Eva Branam, Noah and Will Duke, Elijah, Aron, Nathaniel, Mary Jane, and Naomi Gehl, Caroline and Helen Duke, Tyler and Xavier Roesch. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Jewel Adams and brother-in-law Ralph Adams, and sister Janet Baker and brother-in-law Alson Baker. Bill was an active member at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus, Keenagers at St. Francis Church, and served in several leadership roles on committees at Badin High School and St. Peters Church in Hamilton, over the years. Bill chose to donate his body to the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. A celebration of his life will be held at St. Francis Church on Wilmington Pike on Saturday, July 23, at 11:00am. Visitors will be received by the family from 9:30-10:45am in the church gathering hall. His final resting place will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, Ohio at a future date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude's Cancer Research for Children or St. Francis Church.

I had the privilege of working will Bill. He was the most mild tempered man I have know and the easiest person to work with. Never heard a unkind word from him and always ready to help. He will be missed. If only the world had more people like him we would be so much better off.
