John Boogaard Obituary
October 1, 1924 - February 20, 2023
John Boogaard, born October 1, 1924 to George and Adrianna Boogaard. The fifth of six children. He went to be with the Lord and his wife, on February 20, 2023. John was preceded in death by his wife, Beverley. They were married thirty days short of their 75th wedding anniversary. John was the last remaining of his six siblings.
John served as a deacon and elder for the Hanford Christian Reformed Church and the Trinity United Reformed Church of Visalia. He also served on the Hanford Little League Board, the Hanford Babe Ruth Board, the Hanford High Athletic Boosters Club, the Hanford Recreation Board, the Hanford Christian School Board, the Hanford High Board, the Kings County Board of Education, the Kings County Salvation Army Advisory Board, the Kings County School Board Association and the California School Board Association. John served in the Army Air Corp during WWII achieving the rank of sergeant.
In 2002, John was voted into the Lemoore High School Alumni Hall of Fame for his service to the community. In 2008, the Kings County School Board named their new Education Center after him. In 2012, John and Beverley were named the King and Queen of the Kings County Homecoming Parade and in 2013, Mr. Boogaard was named the Hanford Chamber of Commerce Lifetime Achievement Award Winner.
A viewing will be held at Miller's Funeral Chapel in Visalia on March 10 from 4 to 7 PM.
A graveside service will be at 9:30 AM on March 11, 2023 at the Hanford Cemetery and a Memorial Service will be at 11:00 AM the same day at the Trinity United Reformed Church of Visalia. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the Salvation Army.

John new my father John Warmerdam, that is how I new him, he would stop in to see me at my business, Lemoore Furniture after he drove patients to their appointment, Always was a pleasure to see him, he would always say "whu hat it might" in Dutch, He lived a long and good life. his friend Ann Warmerdam Badasci

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Andy, his family and friends. I'll always remember how John was such a great supporter of me and the areas in which I was involved in Hanford. God rest his soul.
