HARLAN — Barbara Jean Ward, 75, of Harlan, passed from this life on Monday, May 11, 2015 following an illness. She was born June 14, 1939 in Harlan and had lived here all of her life. Barbara is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She received great joy from reading her Bible. She attended the Evarts Church of God.
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Ollie Mae Hensley Pate; and two brothers, Sonny and James Phillip Pate.
Survivors include her husband of 58 years, LeRoy Ward, Harlan; two daughters, Vickie Turner (Mike), of Putney; and Debbie Noe (Darryl), of Harlan; four grandchildren, Charlie Noe, Jenna Noe, Barbara Dean (Randy), Michael Turner (Bonnie); seven great-grandchildren, Shelby Brock, Steve Brock, MaHaley Gross, Cody Turner, Lee Turner, Abigail Collins and McKenzie Turner.
Also surviving are four sisters, Reba Brock (John); Jo Ann Hodge; Lillian Pate; and Betty Hollins (John).
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 pm Wednesday evening at Harlan Funeral Home, followed by funeral services at 8 pm with Darryl Turner officiating.
Interment services 11 am Thursday at Resthaven Cemetery.
