Dwight Bell Obituary

MONTPELIER – Dwight E. Bell, 83, of Montpelier, passed away at 5:57 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012, at IU Health Blackford Hos-pital, Hartford City.

Dwight was born on Monday, Jan. 7, 1929, in Blackford County. 

He married Patricia Reasoner on Sunday, Sept. 26, 1948, in Montpelier. 

Dwight was a 1947 graduate of Montpelier High School.

He retired in 1991 from the Overhead Door Corporation, Hartford City, after 43 years of employment.

Dwight was a member of the Pleasantdale United Methodist Church, Montpelier, and a 44-year member of the Montpelier Lions Club. He was an avid golfer and bowler and he also enjoyed woodworking and gardening.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia (Reasoner) Bell, of Montpelier; two sons, Gary W. (wife, Rachel) Bell, of Morgantown, and Richard L. (companion, Lois) Bell, of Majenica; one daughter, Carol (husband, Dan) Shook, of Montpelier; three grandchildren, Shawn Bell, of Evansville, Darcy (wife, Janeal) Robinette, of Beech Grove, and Cory Robinette, of Montpelier; six great-grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Bell and Marie (Shinn) Bell, and brothers, Earl D. Bell, Ray L. Bell, Homer E. Bell, Roy H. Bell and Clyde Bell Jr.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier, on Friday, Oct. 26, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. and at the funeral home on Saturday, Oct. 27, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

A service to celebrate Dwight's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Chris Nelson officiating.  Interment will follow in the Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery, Montpelier.

Preferred memorials may be made to the Montpelier Lions Club,  P.O. Box 132,  Montpelier, IN  47359 or the Pleasantdale United Methodist Church/Food Pantry, 2972 N. 600 E., Montpelier, IN 457359.                           

Arrangements are being handled by Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, Montpelier.

Dwight was a man of small stature, but he was larger than life. When he smiled he lite up the room .But if he got upset you knew that too.he would help anyone . he was a very proud and loyal Lion member of 44 yrs. He helped me alot at the club. and he gave very big hugs. I will miss you .
