Angel Martinez-Torres Obituary

Angel M. Martinez-Torres, 65, of Hartford, loving companion of 18 years of Miriam Villafane, passed away Saturday, (September 14, 2002) at Hartford Hospital. Born Oct. 6, 1936, in Cidra, Puerto Rico, a son of the late Tomas Martinez and Elisa Torres, he was a U.S. Army veteran, and lived in Hartford 43 years. He was a retired Inspector in the City of Hartford, Dept. of Housing & Community Development, having over 25 years of service. Besides his devoted companion, he is survived by his loving family: children from Hartford, Zoraida, Reinaldo, Migdalia, Marisa, Angel, Sonia, Ana; from Puerto Rico, Carmen, Luis, Miguel, Elizabeth; and from New York, Brenda; 22 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; a brother, Dolores "Loli" Martinez of Hartford; and a sister, Rosa Martinez of Florida; a number of step children; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by two brothers, Guillermo and Jesus Martinez. Calling hours Tuesday, 6-9 p.m. at the Gennaro J. Capobianco GREATER HARTFORD Funeral Home, 247 Washington St., Hartford. Funeral Wednesday, 8 a.m. at the funeral home, with an 8:30 a.m. funeral procession to St. Peter's Church, 160 Main St., Hartford, for a 9 a.m. Funeral Mass, followed by burial in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.
