David A. Chagnot

David A. Chagnot, 83, of Manchester, beloved husband of 57 years to Elizabeth (Würm) Chagnot, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 20, 2018 at his home. Born in Manchester, he was the son of the late Alfred and Lena (Camp) Chagnot and was a lifelong resident of Manchester and Vernon. He was a U.S. Army veteran, met his wife in Germany, and they married on January 21, 1961. David had retired from the Town of Manchester Highway Department after 40 years of service. He was a member of the Army & Navy Club and the Manchester Senior Center, where he enjoyed playing cards. He was also an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, UCONN Huskies, auto racing, and the Connecticut Sun. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons Paul Chagnot and his wife Michele of Manchester, and Eric Chagnot and his wife Sharon of Suffield; his grandchildren Ryan Chagnot and Julia Chagnot; and several cousins. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 25that 11:00 a.m. at the John F. Tierney Funeral Home, 219 West Center St., Manchester, followed by military honors.
