Donald Evans Obituary



Donald L. Evans, 83, of Bloomfield, beloved husband of Marguerite (Brochu) Evans, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 23, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hartford to the late Louis and Helen (Manikowski) Evans, he grew up in Windsor and has been a resident of Bloomfield for almost 60 years. Donald enjoyed playing horseshoes and was an active member of his community serving as a volunteer fireman for 10 years for the town of Bloomfield and 17 years with the Inland and Wetlands Commission as well as the Bloomfield Game Club. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him, especially his family. Besides his wife Marguerite of Bloomfield, he is survived by his sons Donald L. Evans, Jr and his wife Patricia of Manchester, and Louis J. Evans and his wife Deborah of Southwick, MA; his daughters Carol Ann Hill and her husband Kenneth of Fort Myers Beach, FL, Deborah Quigley and her husband Timothy of Wardsboro, VT, and Dayle Williams and her husband Michael of Bloomfield; nine loving grandchildren, thirteen loving great-grandchildren and his sister Louise Levesque. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother Richard Evans and his sisters Marjorie Wiesenfarth and Geraldine Evans. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 AM Friday, November 27 at the Sacred Heart Church, 26 Wintonbury Ave Bloomfield. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. His family will receive friends prior to the service on Friday from 10 AM to 11 AM at the church. In lieu of flowers please make memorial donations to the Bloomfield Ambulance Association, 785 Park Ave Bloomfield, CT 06002 or to Masonicare Home Health & Hospice, 111 Founders Plaza Suite 200, East Hartford, CT 06108.
