Ernest M. Morrell

MORRELL, Ernest M. Ernest M. Morrell of Kensington, died peacefully at home on Thursday, (March 13, 2008) at the age of 74, surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 13, 1933, in Caribou, ME and was the son of the late Olive and Chalmer Morrell of Newington. Ernest was the beloved husband of the late Marge Morrell, devoted father of Ernest Morrell Jr. of Hawaii, Douglas Morrell of Storrs, Diana Alagna and her husband David of Southington, Catherine Morrell Kozieradzki and her husband George of New Britain, and Brian Morrell of Kensington; and loving grandfather of Nicholas, Bradley, and Victoria Alagna and Kristopher Morrell. He served in the Navy on the USS Dealy during the Korean War and is a member of the Korean War Veteran's Association, and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. Following the Navy, he worked with his father in the home construction business and later worked at New Britain General Hospital in the engineering department and retired in 1992. He also leaves behind a twin sister Ernestine Milne of New Britain; and a brother Vincent Morrell of Newington; his sisters-in-law, Theresa Wizorek and Katherine Ostroski of Berlin and Mary Sakowicz and her husband Richard of New Britain; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends and caring neighbors. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Memorial Park and will be private and at the convenience of the family.
