Helen Byczkiewicz Obituary
BYCZKIEWICZ, Helen Helen Byczkiewicz, 72, of Windsor, beloved wife of the late Jozef Byczkiewicz died Saturday, (August 26, 2006) at Hartford Hospital. Born October 7, 1933 in Poland, daughter of the late Karol and Urszula (Kolpak) Nowik. Helen was a communicant of S.S. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford. She was an avid gardener with the most beautiful flower gardens. Helen was a special mother, sister, daughter and friend. Her family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. John Foster for his wonderful care. Helen is survived by two daughters, Barbara Byczkiewicz of Windsor and her close friend, Carl J. Passanisi, Jr. of Wethersfield, Wanda Byczkiewicz and her husband, Jeff Hodges of Orlando, FL; two brothers, Thomas Nowik and his wife, Anna of Windsor, Joseph Nowik of Delray Beach, FL; two sisters, Mary Madrak of Wethersfield, Stella Rodgers of Enfield; two sisters-in-law, Anna and Jean Nowik; a goddaughter, Janina Anderson; dear friends, Michael Madrak, Roland Dumond, Joseph Wujek and Leonia Kania; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Bernard Nowik and Izydor Nowik. Family and friends may gather Wednesday, August 30, 9 a.m., at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., at S.S. Cyril & Methodius Church, Hartford. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at Carmon Windsor Funeral Home. Dear Wanda and Barbara, I worked for many years with your mom in Hartford, and she was such a wonderful person. She would make her famous pierogi and always bring some in for me. I am so very sorry for your great loss, and she will be greatly missed. May god bless you both.

We are so sorry for the loss of your Mom.She was such a sweet and wonderful friend, and after the loss of my Mom, her friendship to us was priceless. Her generosity and caring, loving way will always be treasured by my father,Alan and myself. I can't tell you what a relief it was to have her always looking out for Dad, cooking him wonderful dinners, and of course all those great tasty black forest cakes.She will be missed beyond words...
