My deepest condolences to the Lavoie family. He was my uncle. Who always had a smile on his face. A great laugh. And always was a pillar of advice, kindness in his heart for all. A family man. He was like The Godfather when he spoke everyone listened. He loved Canada. And most certainly his entire family. He is greatly missed. I know he is embracing his daughter Suzie and his parents in heaven. Love you mon oncle jean.

Jean Claude Lavoie was my uncle. He was the man my father asked to look after our family just before he passed away - they were like brothers. After my father passed away, he was there every day calling me after work to see how I was doing. He also wanted to know how my mom and Judy and Jimmy were doing. He talked to my mom every day as well. He did that for quite awhile. Even if all I did was cry and not even talk, he was there to listen. He took good care of us for quite a long time just like my father asked him to. I grew up with him, my Aunt Theresa and my cousins, the Lavoie family, at Crystal lake since I was 10 years old as that was where we spent our summers. As we got older we ended up with 2 cottages right next to each other so we all grew up together. Generation after generation we all went to the lake. Uncle Jean was funny and serious and liked to tease me. That was okay because he was funny and that meant he loved me. All my life he did this and I never tired of it. He was a special guy. He was as strong as an ox and could drop and do 30 push-ups or more on command - even in his 80's. He even lifted the side of a Volkswagen bug right off the ground when he was younger. Strong is an understatement. I could go on and on as I have a tendency to do but just want to say Uncle Jean, you will always be in my heart and I will always love you as I will Susie. I'm so very sorry to see you go but very happy you will be with Susie, your parents and brothers and of course my father (your brother) Jack. Rest easy Uncle Jean.. Love, Diane, Anthony and Marion.
