Jessica Bradley Obituary

Jessica Diane (Harper) Bradley, 41, of Ellington, beloved wife of Jason Bradley passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 16, 2023, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Richmond, VA, on December 21, 1981; the daughter of Joseph Harper and the late Pamela (Everett) Harper. Jess attended Hermitage Vocational Center in Virginia and became an amazingly talented hair stylist. While living in Virginia she pulled up to a stop sign and met the love of her life Jason on his motorcycle in 2004 and followed him back to Connecticut in 2007. They were united in marriage on June 12, 2010, and raised their family in Ellington.

Jess enjoyed the simple things in life, spending time with her family, enjoying the scenery of the lake and beach, driving in her Jeep, and spending time tending to her gardens and flowers. She cherished the time she had on the field cheering on her daughters at their softball practices and games. She will be remembered for her loving, caring, and feisty personality.

Jessica is survived by her husband, Jason Bradley; her father, Joseph Cleveland Harper; three loving daughters, Destiny Bailey, Lydia Jean Bradley, and Lyla Ann Bradley; her brother, Joseph Clevland Harper, II, her aunt who raised her as her own, Sandra Tuck and her husband Folger, aunts, Robin Wyatt and her husband Chris and Cassandra P. Harper, cousins, Crystal Gathright and Wesley Tuck, and several nieces. She also leaves her extended family, mother-in-law, Lisa Capozziello and her husband Nicholas; sisters-in-law, Jennifer Capozziello and her partner Paul Mazzarella and Patty Capozziello. Jess was predeceased by her mother, Pamela; maternal grandparents, Robert and Nancy Everett; paternal grandparents, Cleveland and Cybil Harper; and an aunt, Cycelia Nester.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for the family. Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in Jess's memory may be made to Lydia & Lyla Bradley College Fund, c/o Windsor Federal Savings Bank Customer Service, 250 Broad Street, Windsor, CT 06095 or at https://www.tmcfunding.com/funds/lydia-lyla-bradley-college-fund/8637/.
