John Fortenbach Obituary

John Harold Fortenbach, 78, of Cromwell, husband of Patricia (Carroll) Fortenbach of fifty-seven years, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, at Middlesex Hospital. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Harold Fortenbach and the late Ruth (Endler) Fortenbach Manz.

John has lived in Cromwell since 2015 moving from Southern New Jersey. He was a member of Saint John Church in Cromwell and worked in the Plastic Industry for fifty years, retiring in 2014. John loved dogs, fishing in fair weather and watching the COZY TV station from his favorite recliner.

Along with his wife, John is survived by three sons, Robert Fortenbach of Vernon, John Fortenbach of Cromwell and Stephen Fortenbach and his wife Lori of Cromwell and three grandchildren, Abigail, Olivia, and Nicholas Fortenbach.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 14th at 11:00 am at Saint John Church, 5 Saint John Court, Cromwell. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may be made to Connecticut Humane Society, 701 Russell Road, Newington, CT 06111. Cromwell Funeral Home has care of the arrangements. Mom, Robbie, John and Steve,

I'm so very sorry for your loss. I have such fond memories from the family get-togethers and the many stories that were shared at those events. Dad was well loved and will be greatly missed. Thank you all for always making me feel so welcome and loved.
