Loretta Raynock

Loretta (Nykaza) Raynock, 86, of Newington, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Walter Raynock, Sr. for 46 years before his passing in 2008. Loretta was born in Scranton, PA on October 2, 1937, daughter of the later Jacob and Mary (Lisowski) Nykaza. She was a longtime Newington resident and devout member of Church of the Holy Spirit where she was a former religion teacher. Loretta retired after years working in the Dept. of Consumer Protection for the State of CT. She enjoyed crocheting and made many blankets for family and friends. Most importantly she was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

Loretta is survived by her sons Walter Raynock, Jr. and his wife Pamela, and Mark Raynock; daughter Julie Viera; daughter-in-law Lia Raynock; grandchildren Kirsten Raynock, Mark, Julia, and Matthew Raynock, and Steven and Mary Viera; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Steven Viera; and brothers Thomas and Jacob Nykaza.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Loretta's family on Saturday, December 9th from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington. Mass of Chrisitian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Church of the Holy Spirit, Newington. She will be laid to rest in West Meadow Cemetery.
