Margaret Sacher Obituary

Margaret Beresky Sacher, 84, of West Hartford, died Wednesday, (November 21, 2001) at the Hebrew Home. She was the wife of the late Abraham A. Sacher. She leaves her children, Raylea Sacher Pemstein and her husband, Bernard of Newton, MA, Marc Sacher and his wife, Rhonda of Simsbury and Joanne "Jodi" Sacher of Granby. She also leaves five grandchildren, David Pemstein and his wife, Rachel, Joshua Pemstein and his wife, Dvora, Mari Pemstein Weisman and her husband, David, Melanie Sacher and Daniel Sacher; and two great grandchildren, Jonah and Ezra Pemstein. She was also the sister of Florence Hoberman and the late Leonore Krupnikoff. Born in Denver, CO, Marge was the daughter of Henry and Celia Polakowitz Beresky. She graduated from Weaver High School and worked for the Emanuel Synagogue and the State of Connecticut. She was a tireless volunteer for the Bushnell, and for the UConn Medical Center Neo Natal "Cuddler" program. For 17 years she served as a lay therapist and board member for Kidsafe, a child abuse prevention organization. She also served several other organizations. In 1997, Marge was honored by The Hartford Courant Volunteer Recognition Program for her involvement with Kidsafe. Graveside funeral services were held at the Emanuel Synagogue Cemetery, Wethersfield on Friday, November 23. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kidsafe in Rockville or the Hebrew Home in West Hartford. The family will be observing Shiva through Sunday evening, in Granby.
