Peter R. Mansfield

Peter R. Mansfield, 73, of Plainville passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain surrounded by his family. He was the loving husband of Carmen L. (Menard) Mansfield. Peter was born December 22, 1943 in New Haven, a son of the late Bernard and Mildred (Callahan) Quinn and has been a Plainville resident for the past 30 years. He attended East Haven schools and had worked in retail loss prevention and later as a rural carrier for the United States Postal Service retiring after many years of dedicated service. Peter proudly served his country for 6 years in the United States Navy. He was a roller coaster enthusiast, enjoyed model trains, nature and picnics and the holidays, especially Christmas and the decorating. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Besides his wife Carmen, he leaves his children, Michael, Kathy, Marie, Peter and Marci and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Bernard Quinn and his sister Joan Mansfield. Family and friends may gather at the Bailey Funeral Home 48 Broad Street in Plainville on Saturday April 8, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with a service in celebration of Peter's life beginning at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be held privately.
