Raymond D. Christensen

Raymond D. Christensen, 72, of East Windsor, beloved husband for 37 years of Karen M. (Lynch) Christensen, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 18, 2021. Ray was born in Hartford, son of the late Daniel and Florence (Samartino) Christensen, and graduated from East Windsor High School, where he received a perfect score in Math on the SAT's. He attended the University of Connecticut, majoring in Chemical Engineering, and then went to work with his family at the Christensen Family Farm. In 1987, Ray started his own contracting business, Christensen Remodeling, where he remained until his retirement in 2011. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him. His family will fondly remember him as a loving and supportive man whose family meant the world to him. Ray had an extreme mathematical mind and was writing programming codes in the early 80s on basic computers for his own enjoyment. He was a highly intelligent individual who would always amaze his family with his ability to answer all the Jeopardy questions before the contestants could. Ray was very supportive of his children and loved to coach his son, Daniel's travel basketball and AAU teams. He had a great sense of humor and loved to watch sports, especially UCONN Men's Basketball, the Mets, and the Patriots. He was also a member of the German Club and the Robbers and Thieves Club in Broad Brook. In addition to his wife, Karen, he is survived by his children, Daniel L. Christensen of Wethersfield, Kristen N. Pinchera of Wethersfield and her fiance Jay Lord, and Patrick L. Linehan and his wife Stephanie of Rye, NY; his grandchildren, Chelsea Pinchera, Christopher Pinchera, Olivia Linehan, and Madeline Linehan; and other relatives and friends. His family will receive friends on Monday, October 25, 9:30-10:30 a.m., with a Prayer Service at 10:30 a.m., at Carmon Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Inurnment will follow in St. Catherine Cemetery, Broad Brook.
