Robert W. Charron Sr.

Robert Wallace Charron, Sr., 95, of Glastonbury passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Lois (Herzig) Charron. They were married for 65 years and their 66th anniversary would have been in July. Together they raised four wonderful boys and spent time in both Glastonbury, Connecticut and Matunuck, Rhode Island. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his three sons Robert W. Charron, Jr. and his wife Amy of Simsbury, Connecticut, Craig Charron of Greenbelt, Maryland, James Charron and his wife Sarah and his two grandchildren Nathan and Hannah Charron of Cohasset, Massachusetts. Robert was preceded in death by his sister Lorna and his son Jeffrey Charron. He also leaves behind his longtime best friend Don Sasak. He was born and raised in Baltic, CT and was the son of the late Alfred and Constance (Ridgeway) Charron. He went to Norwich Technical High School, enlisted in the US Navy and served in the engine room of the USS Kaula. He would often entertain with stories of his service during World War II. Robert then earned his Bachelor's Degree and became a Mechanical Engineer for Pratt & Whitney for many years, retiring in 1992. He had a wonderful sense of humor and would often burst out in songs to greet family and friends. He loved his family and enjoyed spending the summers in Matunuck, Rhode Island. His aptitude for fixing things was exceptional and he passed along those skills to his sons. He was a magnificent conversationalist who would entertain family, friends and strangers with his engaging topics. Funeral services and burial will be at the convenience of the family.
