Rose Caruso Obituary

CARUSO, Rose A. Rose A. Crapanzano Caruso, 84, formerly of Marion Drive, North Haven, passed away Sunday, (January 18, 2009) at the Masonic Health Care Center, Wallingford. She was the loving and caring wife of the late Mario A. Caruso. Mrs. Caruso was born in New Haven on September 22, 1924; daughter of the late Mario and Grace Saggio Crapanzano. Rose was a graduate of Commercial High School, Class of 1943 and was very active with the Reunion Committee; she had worked as a Merchandiser for Gibson Cards, South Central Region; was a member and past treasurer of the Hamden Women's Club; a member of the Knights of Columbus/Carmel Council Womens Auxiliary; former member and very active with the St. Stephen's Church Rosary and Altar Society. Rose took pride in caring for her home enjoying cooking and gardening. Her family was the focal point of her life. Beloved mother of Nancy Caruso Monaco, Dr. Grace-Ann Caruso Whitney and her husband Dr. Harry J. Whitney all of North Haven, Mario A. Caruso, Jr. and his wife Wendy E. Caruso of Killingworth, Joan Caruso Sasso and her husband Ricky M. Sasso of Boynton Beach, FL, Michael J. Caruso and his wife Sharon A. Caruso of Wallingford. Sister of Concetta (Joseph) Marcheggiani of Carmel, IN. Also survived by eight grandchildren. Her Funeral Procession will leave the North Haven Funeral Home, 36 Washington Ave., Wednesday morning at 9:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Hamden at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in the North Haven Center Cemetery. The visiting hours will be TODAY, from 4-8 p.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen's School, 418 Ridge Rd., Hamden, CT 06517. www.northhavenfuneral.com
