Many will miss Steve greatly.
I am still in shock over this very sad happening.
I have known him for many years - thanks to Georgia. She knew he and I shared a passion for cars so she introduced us and the opportunity to work with him at William Sander & AutoGear was born virtually automatically.
Beside work chatter, I recall many fond memories that will never leave me - just to name a few... Bilsteins & Eibachs (they're still on the Stang!), my BBS Rim & Formula 1 Car Print that still hangs on my wall today, racing @ Limerock or anywhere really - speed was definitely a shared enjoyment, the move from Beacon Falls to Canton, Kato the Tiger, the Mazda MX6, when Christian was born, when Steve met Bruce (my now husband), who is also a "gear head". I even have a few good pictures of Steve at Bruce and Brian's B-Day party many moons ago. He certainly had such a sense of humor -though a bit sarcastic like me.
I am sad to say, I had not seen Steve in quite some time. Fortunately, Bruce was home when Steve stopped by the house over the summer so he was able to relay messages between us, but... I am sorry I was not able to see him personally.
Even though he tried hard to hide it, most know life was not always fun, there were many hard times for Steve. Now, there will be no pain or hard times, only good.
My heart goes out to the family - to all those who will miss him.
Jameson, Curtis, Christian...
I know first hand what it is like to lose your Dad at a young age. Even though I agree that time heals all wounds, the loss of a father is a difficult one and it never truly goes away, but I promise, it does get easier. Keep your chins up, have strong minds, use your heads and choose the right roads. Your Dad will always be with you - in your hearts and memories - and, if you choose to believe, watching over you.
Our Deepest Sympathies,
Heather & Bruce

My sincere condolences to Steve's family and to all of us who were fortunate enough to have him in our lives when we did. I have to share one, of many, stories that still touches my heart to this day. I will try to keep it short. After high school I rented an apt right around the corner from S. Acres & Steve always stopped in before going home. One night he asked where I'd been for the past few days so I asked him to come look at that crib I had set up a few weeks earlier and when he looked at it, and finally looked inside it closely, he met my then 3 day old son (1973) and the look on his face was so heartwarming & precious to me-I will never forget that moment. We shared so many wonderful times together...from 8th grade until I saw him last and especially that "mini reunion" we put together at Margarita's a few years ago. (Bill Florian, and our beloved Lainie Zils, her sister Beth were there, and other loved friends as well) I am so happy that we had that get together and that my youngest daughter got to meet my special friends as well. There are many more memories that I will always cherish and I hope that everyone will hang on to all of the wonders, the smiles, and OMG the laughter, we had from our times with Steve. I will always smile when I think of our growing up days together-many of us will. Bless you

My deepest sympathy to Steven's family. I remember him from high school as a caring and fun person. Time will lessen your pain, but not your memories.
