Ray Skelton Obituary

Ray Skelton, 88 of Conroe passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020. He was born October 4, 1932 in Conroe, Texas to Samuel and Cora Skelton.

Ray was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cleveland before moving to Conroe, where he attended the New Horizon Church of the Nazarene. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Willis, San Jacinto Lodge 106. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening and generally being outdoors. His grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life.

Ray leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Lou, daughters; Sherry McCrorey and husband Bubba, Lisa Nitschke and husband, Jim, and Elizabeth Woods and husband Jimmy, grandchildren; Jerry McCrorey (Tisa), Jennifer Derks (Bill), Kris Woods (Beth), Alli Robinson (Derk) Kyle Nitschke (Jennie), Great grandchildren; Luke, Lane, Lindsey, Grace ,Kolton, Adeline, Logan, Baily, and Bri, sisters; Helen Cecil and Dorothy Dennis, and Special friend, Donald Sumberlin. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Cashner Funeral Home in Conroe.

In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to New Horizon Church of the Nazarene.
