Renee,

I have been meaning to get a card and letter off to you and hopefully still will do soon. A shock and a loss of Rick from this world. I am sorry that you and your family has had this heartache to face. I always enjoy visiting with Rick at the Christian School ballgames when he and I had our time outs outside the building. He was interesting and funny of course. I always remember his giving to the drawings for the half time prizes and being involved to the fullest in the basketball games. He was fun loving and you could tell enjoyed life. I am sure your household seems quiet w/o him, but knowing Rick he will be overseeing you in heaven and sending his love. Words cannot take away the pain but I am believing God to strenghten you as you have need. We will be in touch Renee, my thoughts are with you. Kathy (Patrick) Davis

I worked for Rick in 1989 and 1990. What a great boss. Renee, my heart aches for you and the kids. I know Rick was your best friend- he was everybody's friend. And he made the best double cheeseburger on our planet. I will miss seeing his shining eyes and warm greeting when I eat at Krekels.

Kalya, i'm not sure you remeber me but we were great friends in grade school. When i herd about what hapened i was very upset, your dad was a nice and wonderful man who was there when anyone needed him and i am very sorry for your loss. I found a poem in my room that i would like to give to you and your family, The Broken Chain: We liilte knew that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same. It broke our heart to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you, the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide, and though we cannot see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken, nothing seems the same, but God calls us one by one, and the Chain will link again. I pray for you and your family.

I have known Rick since I was a little girl, when his nephew, Mike, was my only friend until I was 5-we lived in a neighborhood by Mike's grandparents where there were only "old people"! I have only recently, in the past 2 years had the opportunity to get re-acquainted with Rick, as he is a customer in our Decatur Location at P & M Communications. He was a wonderful man who brougth much laughter and joy to myself and everyone around him when they had the opportunity to be in his presence. I know that he was a wonderful father, friend, and husband and will be greatly missed by myself and everyone else who knew him. To Rene, Kayla, & Chad: I can't imagine the void you must feel in your lives and I am very sorry for your sudden loss. You were very lucky to have him as a husband and father for the time that you did and I know you will miss him dearly. My prayers will be with you during this tough time ahead of you.

I only briefly knew Rick, but instantly seen what a fun outgoing man he was. I met Rick while he was getting a Tattoo, He seemed so full of life and a very good guy to all around. Seemed to take the younger ones from work right under his wing. I am very sorry for the loss of your husband/Father, and a good friend to many. Rick will be sadly missed by those who knew him. For the short time of knowing him, am very sad to see him gone. Lori Carr
