SHUMWAY - Robert L. (Bob) Florey, 74, of Shumway died at 8:45 p.m. Sunday (July 29, 2007) at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday in the Washington United Methodist Church, Stewardson with Rev. Kathy Lewis officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Brummerstedt Funeral Home, Stewardson with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Burial will be in the Stewardson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Washington United Methodist Church or Lincolnland Hospice. He was born August 28, 1932 in Holland Township, Shelby County the son of John (Lute) and Cora L. Lawrence Florey. He married Barbara Crawley September 1, 1956 in Decatur. He was employed by Norge in 1950 and then drafted into the US Army during the Korean War serving 1953 to 1955. He then worked for Dowler Tractor Co. in Shelbyville from 1955 to 1960, owned and operated A & F Ford Tractor Co in Effingham from 1960 to 1970 and a foreman at ARC in Teutopolis from 1979 until retiring in 2004. He was also a dairy farmer retiring in 2007. He was a member of Washington United Methodist Church, NRA, National Dairy Association and vice-president and board member of Mode Camp. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Florey; son, Kim Florey of Shumway; daughter, Debra (Florey) Gordon (Dean) of Beecher City; grandchildren, Shawn Gordon, Doug Gordon (Jennifer), Crystal Gordon, Melody Gordon and Nicole Gordon; great-grandchild, Stephen Gordon; brothers, Jerry Florey (Marge) of Cowden and Ronald Gordon (Lucille) of Beecher City; sisters, Lorena (Peggy) Florey, Connie Stewart (Leonard) and Joanne Walls (Terry) all of Beecher City and Judy Kuhlman of Maroa and brother-in-law, Wilbur Ricketts of Deford, MI.
