I was said to get a phone call from my Aunt Alice Durbin telling me that Roger had passed on. I have many wonderful memories from Roger, as he was a friend of my Grandparents (John R. & Helen Durbin), and went to school with my mom (Lois Durbin). I lived with John W. and Sue Durbin at the time of my mom's passing. Roger was our fuel man, as he refilled our tanks on the farm. I am pround to say that I was one of his "bubble gum kids". I always ran out of the house when I saw the FS truck pull in cause I knew it was Roger and I knew he had bubble gum for me. I wish you the family my sympathy and know you will carry his memory close to your heart, as I will too. He was a great man and was always glad to see me running to him to get my bubble gum.

I'll always remember how much Roger helped me when I began farming. He treated me as though I was a big farmer, not just a small operator just starting. He always had time to talk and listen. I will miss him.

I was sadden to hear of the death of Roger. I worked with Roger in the 1960's...I was sales manager for Moultrie-Shelby FS with my office in Shelbyville. I remember Roger as a real "go-getter", a successfull fuel/chemical salesman that provided his customers with top notch service. I remember Roger always had a smile to give and was a joy to work with. I offer my deepest sympathy to his family.

I cannot imagine anyone that knew my Uncle Roger that didn't love him, and you would be hard pressed to find a better person than he. I will always remember the fun that my cousins and I had teasing him at family dinners, and him teasing us right back. He will be greatly missed and always loved.

I know Roger will be missed greatly,he was always freindly to all and always had time to visit.

I have to think back to the days on the baseball and softball field of all the good times we shared, and then we even worked togather at FS.

Thanks for the memorys

I recall Roger as a really nice guy who was always someone whose athletic abilities I admired...and, years later, when I bumped into him on the Eagle Creek Golf Course (I was walking just to walk, he was playing), he was as pleasant as I recalled...and, I watched him drive off his next tee...and thinking to myself, still an athlete and a nice guy
