Gilbert Blum Obituary

BLUM, GILBERT T., bravely entered a new world fit for hero's, August 30, 2005. He was deeply adored by his family. His beloved wife, Betty Blum. Loving children, Henry (Raya) Blum, Samuel (Milenko) Blum and the late Kenny Blum. Cherished grandchildren, Rabbi Aryeh (Shari) Blum, Nessa (James) Reich and David Blum. Adored great grandchildren, Shoshana, Meira, Rina, Akiva, Hadassah and Ayelet. Dear sister, Fae Rubin. Gilbert fought courageously with Darby's Rangers in WWII until he was captured at Anzio. He endured under grueling conditions for 1 1/2 years as a POW in Northern Germany. He was a well respected entrepreneur opening a successful restaurant in New York and later an electrical business in Miami. His happiest years were spent with his grandchildren and as a world traveler. Donations in Gilbert's memory may be made to Florida's Voice on Mental Retardation, 5591 NE 28th Ave., Ft. Lauderdale, Florida 33308 or Dade Association for Mental Retardation, 5500 Biscayne Blvd. Miami, Florida. Graveside services 11:15 AM today at Lakeside Memorial Park, 10301 NW 25th Street, Miami, FL.
