Hello I know its been eight years since Lou passed away but I just found out today. I found his business card a few days ago while cleaning out my closet here in Colorado where we live now. I am a retired IRS Agent that had an audit with Lou while I lived in the South Fla area. He was such a great man and I learned a lot from him doing that audit. He was such a pleasure to work with and know that I did keep in touch with him when the audit was competed. I was very sorry to hear of his passing

Mrs. D-and family,

Your husband and dad was a extraordinary man, one that I will always think about each time I drive past many places in Fort Lauderdale. He was such a happy, competent, forthcoming and engaging man to be around and he became a mentor to me in many ways. I know your loss of Lou is tremendous, as he marked everyone in a big way, and especially in the way he loved Barbara and all his children and grandchildren. I loved him too and will miss him and never forget his special ways. May his beautiful soul rest in peace in the great heaven beyond.

I am so sorry. "Uncle Lou" was one in a million. I will never forget watching the clam shell fall off the top of the car under Wacker Drive in Chicago on our way to the lodge. He was 'a little bit of Heaven'. My family will miss him more than words. I know he is up there with my mom enjoying the view. Lots of love.

To Barbara and the entire DeReuil Family --

Lou was a good friend and a great lawyer. Beyond that, he was a fine human being. We are all better off for having known him. Several months ago I had the privilege of presenting Lou with a well deserved lifetime achievement award from the Greater Fort Lauderdale Tax Counsel. In his weakened condition, he nonetheless delivered scholarly remarks and, as always, was the consummate gentleman -- a trait for which he will forever be remembered. May he rest in peace and may time heal the pain of his passing.

With deepest sympathy,

Marvin Gutter

Barbara and family,

Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. We were never with Lou than we didn't enjoy his constant flow of wonderful stories, his great sense of humor and his kind and gentle heart.

I only hope that St. Peter has laid in a good supply of fine cigars! He deserves the best.

I knew Lou as a lawyer and a fellow runner. We shared a room in Boston for one Boston Marathon. Whenever I think of Lou I can picture his smile. What a great guy. Our joke was, "We were in the Marines together at different times." Semper Fi, Lou.

Mary Clare, Jimmy and entire DeReuil family: I was so sorry to hear about your Dad. He was a wonderful man. Whenever he would see Mary Clare with a group of friends he would smile and say "Hello all of you beautiful creatures..." He never failed to make the people around him smile. That is an amazing trait.
He, and all of you, are in my prayers.
