Joyce K. Wilson, age 65, of Bluff City, Tennessee, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 20, 2023 at Graystone Health Care Center. Joyce was born on March 14, 1958 to the late Ira Reece Hutchens and Martha Katheryn Rachel Hutchens. In addition to her parents, Joyce was also preceded in death by her husband, Christopher Lee Wilson in 1998; seven brothers, Roger, Larry, Harold Gene, Ray, Richard, Luther and Paul; and a sister, Nina Hutchens.
Joyce was a homemaker and although she was a native of Bluefield, West Virginia, she had moved to Bluff City in 1958. She was a faithful member of Liberty Baptist Church in Bristol, Tennessee and loved listening to Christian music and ministry on television.
Those left to cherish Joyce's memory include her daughter, Christina Wilson Cook of Bluff City; her son, Donald Gene Wilson also of Bluff City; two sisters, Judy (James) Adkins of Virginia and Loretta (Junior) Lunsford of Bristol, Tenn.; two granddaughters, Kaylee (Austiin) Jessee of Bristol, Tenn. and Emily Wilson of Bluff City; two great grandchildren, Amia Jessee of Bristol, Tn and Chrisley Wilson of Bluff City. Several nieces, nephews and a good friend, Joyce Nichols of Bristol, Tenn. also survive.
A graveside service to celebrate Joyce's life will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at Glenwood Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel with Pastor Stan Anderson and Pastor Robert Carty officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12:00 PM until 1 p.m. at Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel.
Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in Joyce's honor to FM Radio 91.5 (WCHB) in Blountville, Tennessee.
