ANTHONY "ANDY" TAYLOR

SHERMAN–Anthony (Andy) Taylor transitioned to the Heavenly chorus early Tuesday morning, April 28, 2020. Andy was born in Sherman, Texas as the twelfth child of Lois and Reuben Taylor. Andy graduated from Sherman High School where he received honors for his singing abilities as a member of the Acapella Choir. During his life, he had a passion for singing and styling hair. He earned an Associate degree in Cosmetology at Grayson College. His passion for hair styling led him into entrepreneurship - owning his own salon in downtown Sherman - 'Ebony and Ivory'. After closing his salon, he continued to practice his craft as a barber and stylist throughout the remainder of his life. If any of you had a chance to cross paths with him in your lifetime, we guarantee, he could make you smile and laugh instantly.
As a renowned soloist, his melodious voice rang throughout North Texas in various churches and other special events. His legacy shall live on as a man with a deep love for God and family. He was truly a man who knew how to enjoy life to the fullest with joy in his heart and a smile on his face. He loved laughter, whether his or making others laugh.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Reuben Taylor(Mattie), Raymond Taylor(Ruth), Martha Taylor, James Taylor, Samuel Taylor, Carolyn Sue Parnell, and Donald Fontenot. He is survived by his sons, Jeremy Taylor(Tasheena) and Joshua Taylor, granddaughter, Iloni Taylor, and of course the remaining 7 siblings of the amazing Taylor 13, Arthur Taylor, Rita Heliton, Delois Smith (William), Sandra Fontenot, Sara Goodman (Larry), Eartha Linson (Curtis), and Allen Taylor, sisters-in-law, Julia Taylor and Louise Taylor, as well as a vast number of other relatives in the Taylor and Mitchell families. Andy will lie in repose at Cravens Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00am until 6:00pm. A celebration of his life will take place at 10:00am on Saturday May 9th, at New Hope Christian Church Fellowship in Denison with amended attendance.
