CHARLES SIMS Charles Dudley Sims Sr., 84, of Pottsboro, Texas, went to his eternal home in Heaven on July 11, 2023, at his home in Pottsboro. Charles was born on June 18, 1939, in Sherman, Texas to John and Daisy Sims. Charles was one of 18 siblings and as he said, he was one of the babies. Charles served 8 years in the United States Air Force, graduated from Grayson County College and worked at Texas Instruments for over 30 years. He loved his tools and working in his shop, playing 42, was extremely proud of his children and loved singing songs with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his son, Chuck Sims and wife, Terri of Southmayd, daughter, Laura Adams and husband, Chris of Denison, daughter, Beverly Cunningham of Whitesboro, Daughter, Hope Powell and husband, Kirby of Pottsboro, daughter, Celeste Singleton and husband, Terrell of Denton, son Ben Sims and wife, Carla of Lindale, 22 grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, Samantha, Ethan, Daisy, Dennis, Jacob, Leslie, Anita, Kelli, Chaney, Matthew, Maegen, Laney, Terrell, Seth, Hunter, Tiara, Marley, Luke, Lin, and Lily, 29 great grandchildren Tennessee, Barrett, Presley, Aniston, Parker, Cooper, Fischer, Carter, Hailee, Nathaniel, Quentin, Carson, Lane, Hank, Charlotte, Logan, Lawson, Kingston, Emory, CL, Grant, Harlow, Harper, Olivia, Kaydence, Kamryn, Kane, Michelle, and Evelyn, sisters Joy Brown, Lyndall Tuthill, and Sammy Kay Decker, brothers Frank Sims and Jimmy Sims and many other family members and friends. Charles is preceded in death by his first wife Patsy of 37 years, his second wife Lois Sims of 22 years, his parents, John and Daisy Sims, his son-in-law, Kim Cunningham, his brothers John Sims, Jerry Sims, Robert Sims, Sidney Sims, and Lionel Sims, and his sisters, Billie Stowe, Patsy Smith, Glenna Hanna, Maudellen Maimone, Ann Belanger, Opal and Louise. The pallbearers will be his grandsons Dennis Adams, Jacob Adams, Matthew Powell, Luke Sims, Justin Espinosa, Corey Wall and honorary pallbearer, Lin Sims. Funeral services for Charles will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, July 15, 2023, at Waldo's Funeral Home of Sherman, officiated by Pastor Ronnie Ball and Pastor Joe Johnson. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Whitesboro. There will be a time of visitation at the funeral home for friends and family on Friday, July 14, 2023, from 7:00PM to 8:00PM.
