Judy Shannon Obituary

ROYSE CITY - Judy Phipps Shannon, 70, of Royse City passed away Thursday, May 31, 2012. She was born November 8, 1941, in Sherman to Robert Lee and Thelma Rose (King) Phipps. Judy attended the Ridin' High Cowboy Church. She was married on April 14, 1962, to Bill Shannon who preceded her in death January 5, 2010.

Judy is survived by sons, Danny Shannon and wife Melanie and Dale Shannon of Royse City, Don Shannon and wife Ashley of Sevierville, Tenn., Doug Shannon and wife Marva also of Royse City, and Russell McCasland of Nocona, who was like a son; brother, Charles Phipps of Ennis; sisters, Gladys Woods of Arizona and Iva Lee Richards of Sherman; grandchildren, Dawson "Weasel," Tyler, Shawna, Cody, Haley, Caitlin, Kiley and Collin; Casen is on the way; great-grandchildren, Kassidy "PooPoo" and Remington. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers and a sister.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2012, at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Chapel. Interment will follow in Rosemound Cemetery of Commerce. The family will receive friends from 6 -8 p.m. Monday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Texas Junior Brahman Breeders Association, 3003 S. Loop West, Ste. 520, Houston, TX 77054 in honor of Judy Shannon of B&J Ranch.
