KATHLEEN COON Obituary

KATHLEEN COON Kathleen (Kathy) Coon, 75, was called home to Heaven on January 10, 2024, in Denison, Texas following a lengthy illness. Kathleen was a devoted Christian wife, daughter, sister and aunt. All those who knew her praised her for always having faith in her Lord and Savior. Kathleen was born May 16, 1948, to LeRoy and Rosemond Bell in San Antonio, Texas. The family relocated to the Rio Grande Valley when she was 2 years old. After graduation from Raymondville High School, she attended college in Corpus Christi, Texas and then accepted a job in Dallas, Texas. It was in Dallas where she attended Church that she met and married John Coon, her devoted husband of 41 years. They wanted a quieter, country life and found the perfect home in Pottsboro, Texas. Kathleen's favorite place was the beach at South Padre Island and spent as much time as possible there with family and friends making memories. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Rosemond Bell; aunts and uncles Chester & Enid Johnson; Alden & Katy Johnson; Gordon & Cordelia Johnson; Evangeline & E.H. Trolinger; Gladys & Thurman Weaver; aunt, Eleanor Studebaker; cousins, Kenneth and Philip Johnson. She is survived by her husband, John Coon; sister, Audrey Moseley; nephews, Kevin and Kyle (Kristin) Moseley; great-nephews, Kyler and Ian Moseley; uncle, Joe Studebaker; stepdaughter, Sherry Proctor; and 16 loving cousins who prayed daily for Kathleen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions may be made to your favorite charity. Memorial service to be scheduled at a later date.
