Marianne Elliott Obituary

Marianne Gilbert Elliott, 52, of Princeton passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 in McKinney surrounded by family.

She was born in January 1961 in Harlingen to Maurice and Maria Gilbert of Big Sandy.

Marianne was a 1979 graduate of Burkburnett High School in Burkburnett, Texas, was married that year and would later be the mother of three children. She would serve as the president of Parent-Teacher Association at James W. Marshal Elementary school and was the Children's Choir leader at her church in Sacramento, Calif. With her husband, she was the co-owner of Elliott's Spas in Sacramento and North Texas.

The Elliott family remembers her as an adventurous person, loving and fun, with a contagious smile. She enjoyed spending time and taking care of her kids, and eventually her grandchildren. She often reminded her family and friends that – like her – dynamite comes in small packages

Marianne is survived by her husband of 33 years, Malcolm; sons and daughters-in-law, Marcus and Patricia Elliott of Anna, Myles and Irene Elliott of McKinney; daughter, Melissa Bird of Plano; and five grandchildren, John, Nick, Erik, Memphis and Malaki.

She was also survived by her grandmother, Rosa Salazar; parents, Maurice and Maria Gilbert; sisters, Marlene and Melinda; brothers, Michael and Matthew; and several aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 13 at Pin Oaks Christian Fellowship in Anna with Pastor Phil Morgan and Marcus Elliott officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be sent to the Legacy Fund at Pin Oaks Christian Fellowship.
