Marutta "Brett" Ord Obituary

Passed away after a brief illness with cancer on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Cambridge Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family at the age of 71. Loving mother of Lindsay (Jim) Pelz, Karen Wright, Gary (Gloria) Ord and Sam (Tony) Koopman. Proud Ma to six grandchildren and one great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband Brian and son Lee. Brett will be dearly missed by her extended family and friends of Sosua, Dominican Republic. Brett lived in Dominican Republic part time for seven years and thoroughly enjoyed her time there along with all of the wonderful friendships made. In keeping with Brett's wishes cremation has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in her memory.

Each time someone you love dies,
They take a piece of you with them.
All we take with us when we die
is the love we left behind.
We take their love and leave them ours,
Until we are reunited and made whole again.
- "Brett"

I was sorry to see this news in the Cambridge Times today. My deepest condolences to all of Marutta's family. The loss of both Brian an Marutta in such a short period of time makes this hard, I am sure. I will be keeping your family in my thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Lee Haskins. Lindsay, if you need an ear just call.
