IN LOVING MEMORY RITA FRANKLIN February 2, 1947 - September 27, 2025 Rita Franklin, 78, of Sanger, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Rita's life was defined by her compassion. As a nurse for many years, she cared deeply for others, and that same kindness extended to everyone she met. She was a woman of strong faith who was devoted to her family, her friends, and the many pets that brought her joy. Rita's laughter and warmth brightened every room, and she truly never met a stranger. In her free time, Rita loved to piddle, which meant lunch and hilarious shopping adventures to her favorite stores, Dillards and TJ Maxx. Rita is survived by her husband, Strike Franklin and family; her sons, Kevin McDaniel and wife Tammy, and Kyle McDaniel and wife Kimberly; her sister Janice Phelps; and her brother Donald Swank and wife Sandy; and numerous nephews, nieces, and grandchildren who adored her. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Swank, father, Roy K. Williams, and her sister, Judy Swank. Those who knew Rita will remember her gentle heart, her joyful laughter, and the love she shared so freely. At a later date, the family will get together to celebrate her life.
