Farewell, My Mountaineer
I remember when my baby brother first became interested in mountain climbing. He read books and purchased equipment with an incredible zeal. He was awed by the beauty and majesty of the mountains. When he spoke of his hiking trips, his face would light up as if he had seen God. Not many leave this life doing what they love to do most and for that, our family is very blessed. So long, my little brother who was like no other. Thank you all, you brave mountaineers, for showing us the incredible beauty of God's highest places. Today, let's celebrate Jack's new life. He will be deeply missed but somewhere, his path will stretch beyond the mountains and the stars. His soul has found peace and its way home.- Kathleen LaMont
