Carole Hemingway Obituary

Carole Ann R. Hemingway "What?" Our precious Carole Ann Rankin Hemingway has slipped the bonds of this realm. She was born December 12, 1932, to Matt "Pete" Rankin and Cleo Grace Rankin. Carole lost Cleo when she was two years old and was raised by Pete's wife Bernice Helstrom Rankin. She graduated from West High School in 1951. She married Wayne Rollins Hemingway, August 12, 1952. They had two beautiful children, Linda Ann Hemingway and Kenneth Wayne Hemingway. Her first job was selling tickets at the Arcade Movie Theater. She was employed by Murray First Thrift in the accounting department, in the sales department of the Gallagher Company, and Northrup King Seed Company as an accountant. She retired from the labor force in 1974 to focus her attention on being a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her devoted husband, Wayne, her children Linda and Ken (Dezi), her grandchildren JJ, Andy (Corrine), and Amy, her dog Minnie, and her parrot Charley. Our lives were graced by her bountiful kindness, thoughtfulness, and generosity. We are truly blessed to have been able to share in this life with her and will miss her dearly. Services will be held at Sunset Gardens located at 2350 East 1300 South. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-8 p.m. Graveside services will be held Friday from 11:00 to 12:00 p.m.
